The finish you always wanted! « Previous Page

For an interior style that's classy and inviting, wonderful wood can't be beaten - wood that's finished and well kept with a lustre that gleams with warmth.

Using the right products to protect wood is vital, especially in areas like hallways that get a lot of traffic. Woodoc manufactures a range of indoor and outdoor wood sealers formulated to suit all needs, from floors to the finest furniture.

Woodoc's superior three-step programme ensures the best result. The first coat deep penetrates the wood, nourishing and revitalising the wood, especially if it is old. The second coat penetrates and bonds with the first, forming a seal and the third provides a surface that is hard, scratch-, alcohol- and heat-resistant, and easy to maintain.

Treat your Table

Woodoc 20 Gloss Indoor Wood Sealer is a high-gloss grain filling sealer with a polyurethane base that produces an extremely tough, heat-, chip- and scratch-resistant surface. It's ideal for diningroom or coffee tables which are often subjected to hot serving platters or coffee cups.

  • Clean the surface with medium sandpaper. If the surface was varnished paint remover may need to be used - don't forget to neutralise it according to instructions on the tin before you apply your Woodoc sealer.
  • Apply Woodoc 20 following the instructions on the label. Remember, it's important to get an even wet surface that stays wet for at least 10 minutes with each coat for the best result and finish.

Fashionable Floors

Woodoc 25 Satin Floor Sealer was used in this hall and sitting room. Not only has it brought the wood back to life, but it will also take the knocks and wear associated with these high traffic areas.

  • It's essential to clean all surfaces, especially of polish. Sand the wood down to create a clean surface and make sure it's dust free.
  • Apply three liberal coats of Woodoc 25, allowing each coat to dry to a hard dry stage before the next coat is applied. Sand lightly between coats with fine Woodoc SteelWool.
  • For a truly superior finish, consider applying a fourth coat - this isn't essential but well worth it.

Treat your furniture

Woodoc 10 was used for the lovely old dresser and chair (below). The beauty of Woodoc 10, besides the way it nourishes and preserves the wood, is that the finish can be controlled from a matt to a semi-gloss finish. Just follow the instructions on the tin.

Apply the first two coats normally. Then apply the third coat and while it's still wet, wipe down with a paper towel or cloth. If a gloss finish is required, leave to dry normally.
